Suggest Treatment For Severe Hair Loss

Dr Rynne. I am a 79 yr old male to be in what I consider excellent health. . I am currently taking Synthoid, dexilant, flomax and cholesterol control tablet, Blood pressure averages 118/70 pulse, 55, non smoker, annuals every year. My question concerns hair loss. Baldness is not in my gene pool so I am a bit concerned about the gradual hair thinning over the past 8-10 tears (legs, arms ,under arms and of course my head of hair. Could this be caused by my Synthoid dosage? and is it recoverable. Thank you John Connor

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The severe hair loss sounds to be in relation with long-term consumption of Synthroid most likely. Should discuss the same with your physician and decide further steps in this direction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
