Suggest Treatment For Severe Body Pain

Yesterday, I starting having body aches...everywhere. Really bad body aches. Being in my late 60 s, I figured it was the weather...looked up the barometric pressure and sure enough - very low barometric pressure. But then I started realizing that the pain wasn t just in my joints. I had moderate pain in my abdomen. It felt like I could actually feel an organ (intestines) that you normally can t feel. Both they and my bladder felt like they had been overstretched. This morning, while not a bad, I still have the same symptoms. About a 2 months ago, my doctor prescribed Januvia and Metformin. I ve been doing fine on those.

Hello,

Since you have type 2 diabetes, do continue to take the prescribed medications (Metformin & Januvia). Intestinal discomfort is commonly due to acid reflux, indigestion, constipation or muscle strain. Pain in the lower abdomen (bladder discomfort) may be due to UTI or interstitial cysitis. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Get urine (C/S, R/E) done along with blood & Imaging tests if required. You may need antibiotics. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. Severe body pain may be due to inadequate sleep, stress, hypokalemia, dehydration, infection or viruses. Take Acetaminophen (tylenol), one SOS when required. Take PPI's & antacids for relieve. Take multivitamin supplements. Stay well hydrated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
