Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain

Hi,
My mother has multiple myeloma and had her second stem cell transplant 1.5 years ago. Her paraprotein level at the moment is normal. She has had asudden onset of severe back pain which has now lasted a month and has been diagnosed with low haemaglobin (this may be a coincidence?). She has not suffered trauma to the back. She is often prone to infection, could this be an infection of the bone, however her white blood cell count appears normal at the moment?

Thanks for any help

Dear caring child
It is good to know that your mother is treated well and stem cell therapy is recommended for it. Now has she complete recovered form multiple myeloma? There are high risk of sudden vertebral compression fractures in patients of mm.since your mother has not met with trauma and pain has started suddenly it is mostly due to sudden vertebral compression fractures. Kindly take her to er and do radiograph of spine anteroposterior and lateral views which would help in diagnosis. Also she is susceptible to infection and if vertebral infection has occurred, that also can be diagnosed with radiograph. I would also like to advise you mri of involved spine region. Kindly visit expert orthopaedic surgeon and get your mother examined.
