Suggest Treatment For Severe Back And Neck Pain

Back when I was the age of 3 I was hit by a car, it paralyzed my right side. I am now almost 50 and am having severe back and neck pain from this. I have been told by a chiropractor that I have degenerative disc disorder. Duh Now, I m considering to talk to a real doctor about my severe pain and also would like to be referred to a Neurological Surgeon. Would this be a positive direction?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
hi,i appreciate your concern for ur backpain.at this age possibility of degenerative bone desease is common.at the same time it is essential to look for quality of bones, and strength of muscles, which is likely to be compromised in your case due to limited mobility because of paralysis.it would be good idea to get yourself examined by orthopaedic surgeon.for the time being, warm water fomentation to back and mild painkiller will be helpful ,if consulted to your family doctor. thanks . iwould be happy to answer any future quary.
