Suggest Treatment For Scrotal Fissured Tongue

hello, my names is Andrea Im 38years old and I do have a 'scrotal" fissured tongue i was wondering if i should visit a specialist bc it bothers me the way it looks specially when i speek to people i never open up my mouth widely so no one can see the way my tongue looks. is there any specialist on Long island in NY ? Maybe there is a procedure that could smooth the tongue?

As per your query Fissured tongue or Scrotal tongue is a condition in which there is formation of deep grooves within the tongue and can occur due to causes like genetics while can also be seen in individuals with certain syndromes like Down's Syndrome..

It can also be seen with patients having Geographic tongue..
As there is no specific treatment to resolve the grooves, therefore the treatment is supportive and involves keeping the grooves clean and do not let food debris to accumulate as it can lead to infection and soreness in tongue..
Another thing that I would like to tell you is that while speaking the tongue is not so much visible that can cause you embarressment, therefore you should speak without hesitation as well as it is not any harmful or serious illness that you need to be sorry for..
