Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I understand that your daughter has a keloid/ hypertrophic scar after healing of chicken pox.
Keloids will grow beyond the scar border, while hypertrophic scar is well confined within the borders. This is one way of differentiating the two.
She would benefit from intralesional steroid injection. A very small amount of the drug Triamcinolone is injected into the bulk of the scar. It has to be taken once in 3 weeks till the lesion softens and become flat. Since it is given only into the lesion, there are no systemic side effects of steroids.
Please visit an experienced dermatologist and discuss about this procedure.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
