Suggest Treatment For Red Spots On The Eyelid

My husband was cleaning our battery terminals on our van and a small piece went into his eye, he flushed it with water but it stings really bad still eyes watering and red spots when he pulls his bottom eyelid down. Should he go to er or is there something more we should do.

Welcome to HCM. Since he has persisting stinging sensation and you are sure about the piece which entered the eye,Please visit the ER at the earliest possible. He needs an eye exam to

1.Make sure the small piece is out of his eye
2.And the rest of the eye is not damaged due to the object.

Do not apply any eye medication until you are seen by a doctor.
Hope this helps.
