Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Cystitis

Hello i have repeated cystitis, i am 48 years old and did suffer from repeated bouts of it when i was about 13 years old and had a kidney test which was normal. I cant have cranberry juice as that aggrevates it and drink as much fluid as i can, and follow all the other guidelines. I think its hormonal but dont know what i can do about hormones.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There are many reasons for recurrent cystitis, common ones are being bladder diverticula, stones and prostate infections.

Unless the root cause is not identified, empirical therapy is not going to work at all.

You need expert urologist evaluation with the culture of urine, complete blood workup, intravenous pyelography and definite management to cure the issue and I suggest in-person consultation for the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
