Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
18 year old heart rate 136 felt pounding as put my hand on his chest this was after eating. He let out a slight cry and describes a slight pain prior to the racing heart beat. He is Aspergers so it s hard for him to express exactely what he is feelngb..should we ask for an ECG?
I went through your details. If the heart rate is frequently above 140 during rest period, that is tachycardia and you should get help of a physician in determining the problem. Usually infrequent high heart rates are due to anxiety or stress. He is already Asperger and anxiety can be explained. Still, I suggest you to consult a physician.
