Suggest Treatment For Postpartum Depression And Anxiety

Hi, can radiation cause depression?

I am a 45 yr. old woman that has not been the same ever since I suffered from Post Partum Psychosis. I have been on meds now for almost 8 yrs. I have severe OCD, depression, and anxiety. I am just curious to know why so many people are suffering from mental illness more now than in the past.

Radiation can cause depression and anxiety. Fatigue and loss of appetite are more common side effects of radiation therapy. It helps to join a support group.
Research evidence suggests that mental illness is not more common now than in the past. However, it is more easily recognized (and treated). This may make it seem like it is more common than in the past.
I hope this has answered your question.
