Suggest Treatment For Persistent Yeast Infection

I have had a persistent yeast infection for about six months. Have tried longer courses of diflucan, canesten creams and pessaries to no avail. I take probiotics, eat live yoghurt, and follow all the usual intructions to help the problem. Have had several swabs come back positive for yeast plus have had all the other tests for underlying problems but there is nothing. Am not on the pill and don't have a partner. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is really getting me down.

Hi, your history suggest that you have got recurrent candidiasis infection.
If i were your treating doctor, then i would suggest
1) To undergo a course of intravenous anti-fungal treatment, which you can discuss with your physician.
2) To check your blood profile to rule out Diabetes (i.e. check your blood glucose levels) and other conditions that may reduce your immune level, that can be elaborately discussed with your physician.
3) To maintain adequate hygiene, and keep the infected regions free from moist(dusting powder may help).
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
