Suggest Treatment For Penile Torsion In A Child

Hi I just had my baby two days ago but I was told by the pediatrician that he has a twisted penis and I have to take him to a urologist to carry out the circumcision and get it corrected,How bad is that and is it a major surgery that has to be done or some people are just born that way.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First, let me congratulate for your baby. May God bless the both of you. Yes, I think should consult with urologist as soon as possible. Since you gave birth from 2 days now, then, your child has born with penile torsion.

Only urologist will give the correct answers you need. Usually, surgery will be carried out to correct it, hopefully everything will be fine. All the best.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
