Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 56yr old Paraplegic male, recently I have had a bout of pneumonia which I am 99% over, however since I've been sick I have developed an ectopic heart beat. I have discussed this with my GP and have had an ECG which showed up the irregularity , however I'm still stressing over this. When I have one of these attacks, I have a funny feel wave over me. I don't know how else to describe this feeling other than its a fainting like feeling but I don't faint. I have also been recently put on blood pressure tablets. My question is? would any or all of this contribute to the onset of this ectopic heartbeat ? And of course is this going to go away without me dropping dead
Ectopic hear beat may be due to physiological phenomenon this is common, but it can be due to lung infection, origin or focus of it is matter of concern the event may not be severe one, with the chronic illness of neurological pathology it is likely to happen.
Although it does not exhibit any symptom or cause any symptoms neither it is the life threatening so no need to worry about this.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtar Husain
