Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi, for the last two days my neck has been getting stiff. I woke up early this morning in a bit of pain..the left side of my neck, all around my left shoulder blade and moving toward the centre of my back is very sore when i move certain ways. the pain starts in my neck and depending on what way i move, it goes across my shoulder and into the top of my arm or down the left cents of my back. My left shoulder feels slightly numb. It does not hurt when I sit still but was extremely painful and uncomfortable lying down. What could this be?
Hello While this may only be a muscular problem, were I your doctor, I would get a MRI of your cervical spine to check for a possible ruptured disc that's pressing on a nerve root. That would explain the numbness and shoulder blade pain.
