Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Right Arm And Shoulder
I m having troubles with shooting & dulling pain in my right arm & shoulder. There is some swelling throughout the area and I ve been taking Aleve for pain and icing it. The ice pack and Aleve work for a very short time and then I m in extreme pain again.
Shooting pain can sometimes be related to abnormal function of the nerves , this is called neuropathy though it is possible that it can be related to damage to surrounding soft tissue.
Neuropathy can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes. IF it continues then you would need to see your doctor for an assessment which would include physical examination and complete history of symptoms and aggravating factors
Some of the more common causes of neuropathy are: (1) vitamin b12 and folate deficiency (2)abnormal levels of vitamin b6 (3)diabetes (4) trauma (5)thyroid disease (6)side effect of medication (7)liver or kidney disease (8)exposure to toxins
In addition to blood tests, imaging of the shoulder would likely be needed for diagnosis.
Treatment would depend on the cause found.
I hope this helps
