Suggest Treatment For Pain And Numbness In Neck

Last week I fell face first and slammed my neck and head into the ground and someone fell on top of me. I felt and heard my neck make a lot of cracking noise. The next day my neck hurt pretty badly and I started experiencing some numbness and tingling sensations on the back of my head. In the last few days the numbness on the back of my head has turned into extreme sharp pain, even to the touch. It is not like a headache, but more of an external pain. My neck hurts very badly still, and I can barely turn my neck at all. I can t seem to find a comfortable position to sleep in, as my head hurts so bad i cant even touch it to a pillow.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

First, you should get your neck stabilise by wearing cervical collar. Your symptoms are neurological so better consult spine surgeon and get MRI done. I think you should not waste time.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Gaurang B. Shah, Orthopedic Surgeon
