Suggest Treatment For Pain And Heavy Bleeding During Periods

I am in the second day of my period. I had usually severe pain and heavy bleeding yesterday and have passed a teardrop shaped solid mass about 2 cm long and about 1 cm in diameter. It is not a blood clot and is yellow is white at the pointed end and pinkish red at the base. I am 43 years of age, not taking contraceptives and there is no possibility of pregnancy. Is this anything to be concerned about? Thank you

Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. In the current scenario, the histopathological examination of the tissue expelled can give the clarification. If you are sexually active, pregnancy also should be excluded if you use no contraception. An estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres is the best way to confirm/exclude pregnancy. If possible, a trans-vaginal/pelvic sonogram also should be done to know the status of the pelvic organs. If pregnancy is negative, the tissue could be an endometrial cast. Further management can be planned accordingly. Hope this helps.
