Suggest Treatment For Overactive Thyroid And Headaches
Hello . I have got overactive thyroid, and currently on carbimozole .. I was wondering, does this cause headaches ? as i get them on & off all day! Also, can they cause weight gain? As i am really struggling to lose weight! You are supposed to lose weight with Overactive thyroid!! PLs can u help me!
It is not associated with weight gain though persons can react differently to medication. Since you are currently treating the overactive thyroid, this would play a role in your difficulty.
Diet changes, physical activity and possibly weight loss medication would be needed. The main diets are low fat/low calorie and low carb diet. The use of meal replacements for 1 or 2 of your daily meals would also help as well.
At least 150 to 200 mins of activity a week with a combination of aerobic and strength training.
I hope this helps
