Suggest Treatment For Numbness And Large Bruise On The Forearm

Hi, I have fallen and skinned my left knee and also have a large bruise on my left forearm. Part of the forearm bruise is numb, but I have full use of my arm. What would be causing the numbness? I am on medication (steroid inhalers) which causes me to bruise easily.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have numbness and large bruise on the forearm . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like trauma , coagulopathy , anticoagulant medications , mongolian spot , local infection or hematoma . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses , keep the site clean and dry , apply over the counter antibiotics ointment and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Wear loose cloths and keep the area clean and dry .If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may drain the hematoma , prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin or antifungal depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to general surgeon for hematoma like problem.
