Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

The options in multinodular goiter depends on whether you have to keep it or take it out.

The indications of surgery are:
1. Size more than 4 cm
2. Any difficulty like swallowing or breathing difficulty
3. Presence of cancer in needle biopsy
4. Swelling extending to chest cage

The ideal treatment if you decide to take the nodule out is surgery.

Other less preferred options include
1. Radio iodine treatment
2. Alcohol injection
3. Radio frequency ablation

All these treatment are less effective when compared surgery

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
