Suggest Treatment For Mild Scalp Psoriasis

I have mild scalp psoriasis but I don t think it has anything to do with my hair. I have my hair colored because of grays every 8 weeks. I m 45 yrs old. This past year my hair has been very dry and I have a very hard time shampooing it. It gets so knotty that I have a hard time washing it. I thought it was my water at first because of my water softener not working. I have to put so much conditioner on to moisturize it and when I do, it feels as though the conditioner is not soaking in but just slipping off my hair. I m very frustrated. Could it be something with my immune system?

Scalp psoriasis has a tendency to aggrevate in winter season. You can use shampoos containing salicylic acid which will reduce the scaling on year scalp.Topical steroid shampoos containing fluocinolone can also help as they reduce inflammation. You might need to taper of the above mentioned therapy after consulting your dermatologist as scalp psoriasis has a tendency to go away and then recur again .Regards
