Suggest Treatment For Mass In Bladder In A Cardiac Patient

My aunt has type 1 diabetes. And has had this since the age of 12. She is now... 53 I believe. Along with the general complications of Diabetes, she has also had a long history of heart problems, including multiple heart attacks, heart disease, etc. Recently, there was a mass found in her bladder after being admitted to the hospital with UTI like symptoms. The scope found the mass. She was scheduled for a biopsy today, however at the last minute she was turned away because a cardiologist reported that her heart was too weak to handle the anestesia. What are the options in this case?

hi there, I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

First of all do not panic.
If she is counseled beforehand and agrees to get the cystoscopy done under sedation and local anaesthesia then the biopsy procedure can be done with less risks at the hands of expert urologist.

Alternatively, cytological study from 24 hours urinary collection sample can be done. Though this test is having high false negative rates, but positive findings are definitely diagnostic.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
