Suggest Treatment For Lump In Mons Pubis And Swollen Nodes In Axilla

I was sexually abused by my elder cousin brother when I was a kid.Later he went to a different city and we hardly met and once when we did..I was quite grown up to understand what he was doing and i asked him to stop. And he did.But once when i was in 12th std. he had tried to be very forceful with me and he tried to kiss me but I tried to resist but cdnt do much..Other than the kiss i had no body fluids contact..Like no sex wtsoever..this happened in the month of june..In sept. i noticed a lymph node swelling like a small lump in my mons pubis..and then later that year it had occured 4-5 on the nearby area in the mons only..I also had swollen nodes in the axilla once...but its now like a year..and no such lymph nodes are seen..Only once an axillary lymph node swelling before my menses..My menses have always been regular.I have had no weight loss or No other symptoms except for lymph node enlargement..I dont have flu like symptoms..Should i go for an STD checkup?

Hi,

Generally, kissing does not cause most of the STDs, however, some of STD"s like herpes and syphilis can be transmitted thru skin to skin contact, particularly if sore is present. Other, common STD which can be transmitted thru saliva, is CMV. This virus when enters in body, may life long in the body, but staying dormant (Inactive). It may be reactivated after a few weeks or even after a year or so. Also, it is one of the infections, which may cause swollen lymph nodes. Therefore, in my opinion, you should get yourself tested for CMV (Cytomegalo virus) to be sure that you are not suffering from it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
