I am a contact lens user, but I get them to wear as monovision, script is -3.50n in both eyes I haven t needed reading glasses , and I buy colored contacts, so was lens is -0.00 and the other one -3.50. I have started wearing the one with -3.50 in my left eye and not even putting the one with no script in my right because it gets real red again (put a brand new one in my left eye but I cannot see close up clearly with my right eye since it had the redness. conjunctivitis can not be cause for loss of vision. you have already said right eye is having cataract. with infection you should not use contact. at any cost contact lens should be removed at bed time. with prolong use you may develop dry eye and corneal erosion.you have to continue using specs for reading its power may be reviewed.
