Suggest Treatment For Loss Of Balance And Dizziness
Hi, I worked for a Neurologist (receptionest) for 11 years. I recall him treating people with balance and dizziness issues caused by particles repositioning in the inner ear. Can you please tell me what it would have been called? He would have them sit on the exam table, then quickly lay them down (having the waste basket ready in case they got sick!) Thank you, Liz Peters-Harman
Hello Liz, the test is called the Dix- Hallpike positional test and the particle repositioning procedure is called Epley or Semont maneuver, depending on which semicircular canal was being treated. I hope you want this only for information purposes because not all cases of balance disorder are treated this way.
