Suggest Treatment For Loose Stools In A Child
Hi! My 1 year old is suffering with loose stools since 5 days. the frequency was limited to 4-5 per day but since today morning he is passing watery stool (still frequency 3 times in 6 hours) . A friend has recommended SPORLAC powder and ORS.

Your friend has been correct in advising ORS. Please continue giving it as it prevents dehydration. Monitor urine output and ensure that your son eats well. Persistent loose stool could be due to an infection of the urinary tract or intestine and may need appropriate antibiotic. Hence, please consult your pediatrician in this regard.
