Suggest Treatment For Leg Scab

My 94 yr old mother has what appears to be a 1 x2 scab on her left shin. The scab is very fixed in shape. She has had several incidents in the recent past where she has broken open her skin that take several weeks to heal. She has stated that she didn t bang her leg anywhere. There is not any pain nor is the area around it red or warm to the touch. Any idea what it might be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Due to age there might be having dry skin and poor vascular circulation and lack of proper skin nourishment this problem is likely.
Apply moisturize or triple action skin on the affected part.
Ask her to go for passive light exercises like movement of leg, some slow walking.
Give her vegetable soups and some multivitamin supplements.
Ok and take care.
