Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yeah...I went to my regular doctor who thought I had sacroial joint dysfunction based on pain that is coming and going on my lower left side..so I went to my chiro who I have been going to for 13 years and he said I had a torn muscle..my quadrtros lumbrom to be exact..treatment was cortisone patch first, follwed by icing 3 times a day 20 minutes...ibuprofen 200mg 3x a day and a lumbar support 24/7 well the other night I woke up in severe pain I had accidentially mixed ibuprofen cream too soon where the cortisone patch had been so my chiro said I created an allergic reaction that increased my inflammation...upset nonetheless I waited 2 days to put the lumbar support back on and I had worn it all day and last night at 1:30 in the a.m. I woke up in severe pain again and my husband said he could feel the inflammation...for about 6 months I have had this pain it comes and goes but it now seems worse and the lumbar support definetly makes it feels worse..so I do not think I have a torn muscle I think there is something more going on...and by the way I am 37, 142 pounds...a very active person...I was walking 20 miles a week and doing weights 3x a week...so the chiro basically said I overused my muscle and that is the result of my torn muscle...helppppp!!! THIS PAIN IS EXHAUSTING and I am worried that I am masking the actual problem your thoughts would be great....oh yeah the pain is deep and penetrating and then it subsides and feels achy and when it does flair up I am not doing any fancy moves or lifting...thanks
