Suggest Treatment For Joints And Body Pain During Pregnancy
Persistenty high aso titre with c/o non specific joint pain and body ace, no h/o joint swelling or morning stiffness, 20 yrs pregnant lady. esr high. rheumatoid factor and uric acid negative. no h/o palpitation , sore throat and exertional dyspnoea. Throat swab -negative. What to do?
I would advise you to use local ointments for relief of pain and avoid taking pain killers during pregnancy however if you are not getting relief with it then I would recommend tab paracetamol which is the safest among all the pain killers to take during pregnancy. Raised ESR is normal during pregnancy however the raised ASO titer needs to be investigated for infection and if there is any infection, it can be treated satisfactorily with antibiotics of penicillin group.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
