Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes On Body

Hi, I have small bug bites that I can't figure out how I got. They are all in areas of greatest warmth on the body such as on my torso, near the groin, near the breast, back of the neck/ head. I do not have lice as I checked for that with a lice comb. I don't have fleas in the home either. They are itchy. I wanted to make sure it's not some kind of body lice that I would need to get a special ointment to treat it. Just wanted to know if I should go get them checked or just treat them like any other bug bites.
I did just work on freeing my chickens of mites but I wore protective clothing, boots, gloves. Also, mites are supposed to be chicken specific.
Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM,

I read carefully your question and understand your concern.

from what you are describing it doesn't look like a bug bite, because in general it is localized in the exposed areas of the body.

The locations you are describing are typical for a scabia infection. I would not be able to tell it for sure though, without seeing a picture of it.

The answer to your question though, if you should see a doctor is yes...and make sure it isn't scabies, because you will need a specific treatment for it.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you have further questions.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
