Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. PCOS is a disease of insulin resistance and the basic principles of management of PCOS is weight loss and lifestyle changes like exercise. Weight loss improves the metabolism and hence improves the insulin resistance. PCOS may also cause irregular spotting. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined to rule out any local lesions in cervix or vagina including cervical cancer, which can cause spotting. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
