Suggest Treatment For Hemorrhoids After Treated Gall Bladder Surgery

Hi, back in 1985 I had cervic cancer which lead to approx 39 radiation treatment, two major doses of radiation at Emory, followed by surgery and a 72 hour radiation implant. In 1993 I had my gall bladder removed. Since that time I have had bouts of diarrhea which I have managed. In the last year my bowels have started leaking with out any warning. I went to the doctor, she told me I had hemmeroids which I think I got rid of by taking herbs for three months. I need to know is there a medicine that will help control this problem. I am taking Bismatrol now. I had to quit taking Loperamide Hydrochloride tablets as it was causing major burning. I have a paid trip coming up in Nov. and now am questioning if I should go or not.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Hemorrhoids is managed initially by conservative measures.
Management of hemorrhoids depends on site of hemorrhoids- internal or external.
Besides, it also depends on type of prolapse- permanent prolapse or temporary prolapse.
When the hemorrhoids are internal and are temporary i.e. go back to its original position when strain is relieved, treatment consists of conservative measures like banding.
When hemorrhoids prolapse permanently, surgery is the mainstay of treatment.
Excision of the hemorrhoids is required at this stage.
Drugs will not help in such condition.

Thanks and take care
