Hello, A hiatal hernia may lead to abnormal leakage of stomach contents into oesophagus lead to acid reflux. It is treated with fundoplication surgery. Before undergone surgery, you have to check for Barrett oesophagus and Helicobacter pylori infection. Continue proton pump inhibitors then consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
