Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had a headache on and off for the past week or two. I m taking ibuprofen 2 to 3 three times a day to decrease the pain. The headaches range from a dull ache to a shooting pain. Today the simple act of coughing or sneezing hurt my head. I ve also had a stuffy and runny nose on and off ever since I got a bad cold in November of 2014. Two days ago a neck stiffness set in. I thought I had slept wrong but this afternoon I ve noticed an slow increase in neck stiffness, heat seems to be helping a little. I am a smoker, just turned 35, and have been on birth control for about 3 years which has caused my periods to stop completely in that time. I was very good about taking a daily low dose asprin but have not been so regular in the past many months. Between work and home I ve had a bit of stress over the last month due to increased workload (which will cease soon) and many major decisions regarding our children s education and taking on new financial obligations (enrollment in private school one child and buying a car for our other). I think this may just be a tension headache and don t want to jump to conclusions that its something bigger. Thoughts?
Hello. Thanks for writing to HCM. I read and understand your question very well. I try my best to help you in this.
As you have just headache , as per your history it seems due to tension and stress. For this i suggest to do meditation regularly in the morning. Also take deep breath for few times when you feel headache. Also take sufficient nutrition with vitamins through healthy food. Eat fruit or fruit juice daily. Do exercise daily , it helps you . Drink more and more water daily. Also do not worry about anything in your life. All will get better. Nothing in your hand just trust the god and live your life . Enjoy every moment , do what you like. Feel free and relax.
I hope my advice will help you a lot. Thanks and Regards. Dr Vijay
