Hello I have been having cold and flu like symptoms, headaches lethargic, and early on a sore throat. went to Dr had bloods as I was feeling sick for a week. Tests came back as CRP level of 32. He said I was fighting some infection but didn t know what it was. All other indicators in my blood, white blood cells etc were perfect. Urine sample came back clear as well. I have been feeling good for s few hours then no energy. I am a healthy 40yr old male no overweight and exercise at least 2-3times a week. Non smoker and social drinker. What could be the issue?
It can be acute upper respiratory influenza infection in that malaise can be present. Your work-up done as follows: • Auscultation • CBC • Sputum examination, if needed • Chest x-ray
This basic investigation is to be done first and meanwhile symptomatic management to be continued. Influenza infection sometime takes time in recovery, vitamin C lozenges are useful, and salt water gargle to be done 3 times a day. Consult pulmonologist for examination and further work-up accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
