Suggest Treatment For Having Large Subtotal Perforation In Ear Membrane

I am having large subtotal perforation in left ear membrane. Doctor has advised me for operation to replace membrane. Should I go for that? What are the benefits? Will hearing improve? What are other ways to cure than operation? Also my ear continuously discharges yellow liquid for that he has given Ciplox 500 tablet + Rinitol Capsul.. What are they for? Rinitol should be taken after or before meal?
