Suggest Treatment For Goiter

I have graves disease for about eight months . I am only thirty five years old female, single and it is hard to cope with this. I have lost a lot of weight and I have a large goiter around my neck. My doctor says it will take time to get it under control with oral medication. What is your opinion about treatment and will it turn into cancer?
