Hi, Noted your history and understood the concerns.
The cause of not digesting certain foods and beverages is usually due to a condition called intolerance to these things. Or it can be IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome. This can run in families. I would advise you the following for you and your daughter. Undergo all the relevant tests for this condition: Tests of stool. Tests of blood for CBC and particularly for thyroid, liver and pancreatic functions. CT scan of abdomen. Upper GI Endoscopy and colonoscopy. Clinical evaluation by a Gastroenterologist. All these will lead to a proper diagnosis and a chance to have a proper management. Avoid all the foods and beverages that cause the problems or increase the intensity.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
