General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about your 7 year old daughter having illness, open mouth breathing, coughing spells causing tears in eyes, lips become ruby red, wants to know whether this is bronchitis or be more concerned.
Open mouth breathing indicates nasal blockage or air hunger like one get in asthma.; since the baby is 7 years old adenoids can be the commonest reason of nasal blockage.
Severe coughing can be due to postnasal drip or tracheitis and so on.
This is surely a large concern and you should take her to a Pediatrician for proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations.
Second opinion of an ENT Surgeon will be a better idea.
Once a proper diagnosis is done the treatment can be as per the cause found to be effective.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
