Suggest Treatment For Fever Along With Vomiting And Loss Of Appetite
My father is 76 and a diabetic patient ( 100 f, 190 pp). since last one and half months he's suffering from fever. his normal body temperature is 96.4 degree F. but duting the course of medication since last one month it fluctuated from 98 to 100.
1. It all started with loss of apetite and total reluntance of taking any food, vomiting tendency and nausea and then with fever ( 98- 99) .Consulted with Doctor and Gastro problem suspected and medication given, nothing improved,
2)Undergone the blood test like :
TC/ DC/Hb/ESR/Bilirubin/ SGPT / Malaria antigen : everything ok
3)then chest infection suspected, medication given, no improvement, temperature increased slighly ( 99-100) along with vomiting
4) another doctor consulted. x ray revels minimal blunting in left costophrenic angle. other tests like LFT, Urine RE/ME, HbA1c OK
5) allowed for self healing for 7 days. but the fever didnt subsided ( 98.5 to 99.5) with intolerable body ache.
6) then hospitalised and intravenous antibiotic applied and left after 7 days with medication of antibiotics, mild dose sugar and some gastro. Renal profile checked with no conclusion.
7) finally there was little improvement: taking two spoons of rice, no apperent appetite. Fever continues to be 98.6 during evening/night( he suffers even with 97.5 body temperature, his normal 96.4 - feel feverish) along with pain in lower body. Feel very weak.
8) no Vitamin prescribed, nothing of allergic. i'm in a misery
The suffering goes on enduring with Fever and weakness. please help

now his body temperature is ok
if he gets recurrent fever ,and Fever associated with chills and raise of temperature in the night is most probably due to malarial fever. You will get a negative result for malaria if you take the test routinely. But you will only get the positive result only when you take the test at the peak of the temperature in the evening
I advice to take tab chloroquine 4 tab immediately followed by 2 tab after 6 hours 2 after 24 hours 2 after 48 hours..if malaria is not there also it can be taken for profilaxis.
If fever not subsiding the other possibility is t.b abdomen.
First take chloroquine and review
