General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The main reason for excessive burping in your child is indigestion due to the increased amount of stomach acid.

As a clinician even I would have recommended medications that help reduce the amount of acid their stomach produces.

These medications include Antacids. histamine-2 blockers that reduce acid in the stomach, such as Pepcid and Zantac.

Here are some basic tips to prevent common indigestion in children:

1. Avoid foods that contain high quantities of oil.

2. Avoid chocolate.

3. Inculcate the habit of eating slowly.

4. Look for ways to keep your child happy.

5. Don’t let your child run or take up physical activity immediately after a huge meal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
