Suggest Treatment For Elevated Triglyceride Levels

my dad has triglyceride problem. the range has exceeded from the normal range in his biochemistry report. the normal range is upto 170 mg/dl and in his report its 260 mg/dl. what should i do?

Hello and thank you for using HCM.I carefully read your question and I understand your concern.You shoud not worry. I'll try to explain you something and give you my opinion.

You should know that lipids target levels depends on some factors like age and other associated ricsfactors hypertension, diabetes, smoking and hereditary history of high lipids.

Triglyceride level are strongly related to food intake. First of all it is important to be 12 h fasting before taking blood sample for triglyceride analysis.

If a person had a previous heavy meal it is normal to have high level of triglycerides.
They're normal level is below 150 mg / dl.

To lower triglycerides and lipids in general is essential to avoid high cholesterol food, fast food, pizzas, sweeties, white bread , alcohol.
Its important to have regullar physical activity minimaly 40 minutes every day.

Also its important to check the levels of glicemia.
If we dont have results whith dietary change than it will be mandatory to strart medical treatment.
