Suggest Treatment For Ear Infections For 3 Year Old

Hi, My 5 month old baby has had 3 ear infections over the past 7 weeks. We have been on two rounds of amoxicillian and now are trying a different type of amoxicillian. I m worried that the antibiotics are not helping and we re headed down a bad path, I ve read that so many antibiotics can actually increase the chances of having additional ear infections? How can we prevent ear infections and are antibiotics the only remedy?
