What Is The Cause And Treatment For Ear Infections?

I have been plagued with chronic ear infections most of my life. Doctors say I have abnormally small estacian tubes.Last year I had 11 ear infections; pretty much on antibiotics all the time. I ve had two sinus surgeries. I use sinus rinse daily or I get strep, walking pneumonia, bronchitus all at once with vertigo. Every single cold I get turns into ear infections and takes 2-3 weeks if not more to heal.

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

Till the Eustachian tube is abnormal you keep getting ear infections.
Injection of Teflon under the lining of the Eustachian tube opening may serve to close it. In certain extreme cases plugging the Eustachian tube surgically by lifting up the eardrum and placing a plug into the middle ear opening of the Eustachian tube may be helpful.

Discuss these options with your treating doctor.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help you.

Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
