Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection And Sore Throat

Hello I m 25 yrs old and having gastric bypass sx in 6 days. I frequently get ear infections and sore throats due to post nasal drip around this time of year. I have the post nasal drip now but haven t gotten a sore throat or ear infection yet. Is it okay for me to take Sudafed to clear this up prior to surgery. I m also on a z-pak.

Hi,

Welcome to HCM,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

pseudoephedrine( suedofed) can cause cardiac side effects in normal individuals. post MI with block in coronary arteries, better to be avoided.

Hope, I have answered your query, all the best, take care.

HI,
Welcome to HCM,
I suggest you to take montelukast with levocetrizine combination once a day at night for 7 days.... rather than Sudafed since it has many side effects....
get well soon...
