Suggest Treatment For Dry Unproductive Cough And Headaches

I have suddenly today developed a dry, unproductive cough, and I have a dull headache behind my eyes. My chest feels tight, and I am having a slight fear of having a panic attack. I am a 67 year old, very active female. I had a subarachnoid hemorrhagic stroke 3 years ago. Just had a 6 month checkup with my pc Doctor this week. All blood work was normal.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you had a panic attack you should measure the heart rate. If it is higher than 100 you may need to take atenolol to stabilise it. For a dry cough, you can try desloratadine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
