Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough While Having Sinus Infection

I have a sinus infection accompanied by a postnasal drip and a dry irritating cough that happens in the middle of the night. I m using Grape seed extract,some olive oil, postnasal drip drops, I also drink rooibos tea with honey and a slice of lemon. I actually don t know what is best. I believe in natural remedies. Your adviice will be appreciated as I find this stressful

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dry cough while having sinus infection which are pointing towards condition called sinusitis and it is mainly due to upper respiratory tract infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to drink plenty of fluid and do warm saline gargles. Take steam 2-3 times a day to relieve congestion and for allergy take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. You should consult ENT specialist for proper examination and start treatment accordingly. Doctor may order blood test and order X-ray of paranasal sinuses. He/ she may prescribe antibiotics course nasal corticosteroids , antihistamines and decongestant.
