Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Twitching In Right Eye

Hi Dr m a 45 year old male. About 12 weeks ago I started to get dizzy and a couple of times almost felt like falling over (always in bright lights at supermarket). Around the same time my 14 year old daughter began feeling dizzy also. Her symptoms have eased but I still feel a bit dizzy and sometimes suffer a right eye twitch. Occasionally my right ear feels blocked. The dizziness is improving slowly. I feel better in fresh air ,dark places and while lying down. I m assuming this is a viral infection of inner ear?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear , This is Dr. S. Tomar from healthcaremagic.com's medical team and I ll be your medical advisor for this question. First of all thank you for sharing your concern with us and showing trust on us.
Your symptoms are suggestive of inner ear infection . Such infections are mostly viral and resolves in few weeks but the symptoms of vertigo can remain in few people for months and in some rare cases for years .
Follow these self care tips:
1. Drink plenty of water
2. avoid bright lights
3. try to be in a quiet place
4. avoid alcohol
5. During feeling dizzy , liedown on your side .
As a general protocol if symptoms not improve in 3 weeks then should consult your GP first , After your general check up if your GP will consider then will refer you to ENT specialist for further evaluation and proper treatment .

This is my initial response and discussion is open until you have any query or need further clarification.
I wish you good health .
Thank you for your question and feel free to contact further for any question .
sincerely,
Dr. Shardendu Tomar
