Suggest Treatment For Diverticulitis And Constipation

I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis and am constipated. The doctor said I should take a laxative but when doing so I had such severe cramps I couldn t stand it. She prescribed metronidazole for the infection. What should I do? Would a stool softener work?

Hi, Metronidazole will not help you to clear stools. You start on Ispagula husk 2 teaspoon in night with water . In case on rare cases you are still having constipation you can start on T.Bisacodyl.

Laxatives is very powerful and can cause loose stools and abdominal pain .
