Suggest Treatment For Discoloration On The Legs Post Leg Ulcers Treatment

My husband is white male, 66 years old and diabetic, overweight with neuropathy and severe swelling and occasional leg ulcers. He was recently in the hospital with a septic infection. He had diarrhea in the hospital and had an anal catheter for a few days. Upon coming home from the hospital he had considerable pain and discomfort sitting or standing. His anal area and legs were very chapped and scaly. We applied barrier cream with hospital pads and vaseline off and on, and the discomfort has mostly gone away but the entire area is very discolored, greyish purple and dark. He just came off pick line IV antibiotics but is now on pills. Is the discoloration something that can be treated? His follow ups from the hospital, no one has really looked at this area because it s not currently causing him discomfort, other than constipation, which is another ongoing issue.

Hello

You can continue the barrier creams and in my opinion you must undergo treatment for your constipation. After being recovered from other illness, you can treat your discoloration part with depigmenting cream after consulting with your Dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
